As the first edition of Insight was published, the LawMaster team was heading off to attend the Chilli IQ 9th Managing Partners Forum in Byron Bay. The conference theme was ‘Responding to the Disruptive Universe’, and we found the program to be innovative and stimulating.

It highlighted the technology transformation challenges faced by today’s law firms. Read the LawMaster Blog to find out more.

We also recently attended the 30 Years Young Lawlink Conference held in Dunedin, New Zealand. Lawlink is a national network of law firms that connects over 400 lawyers and 353 support staff. This network facilitates the sharing of information, expertise and know-how enhancing the service experienced by their clients. Over 100 delegates attended and as Silver Sponsor, LawMaster was proud to demonstrate our support to this community of law firms in New Zealand. The LawMaster Client Services team is in the final stages of upgrading a Lawlink Member to LawMaster’s practice management technology.

CEO Connection – Northern Territory and Northern Queensland

LawMaster launched the first of our CEO Connection tours recently, targeting law practices in the Northern Territory and Northern Queensland. This is an important LawMaster initiative that helps foster strong relationships between leaders of the legal industry. The aim of the program is to bring these leaders together to share strategies, harvest ideas and improve business value. The knowledge gained enables us to continue to make our technology more intelligent, more integrated and more relevant to our clients’ specific business requirements.

Present at this first tour were LawMaster CEO David Toohey, Product Manager Jeremy Collins, and Marketing Coordinator Fiona Chevallier-Knospe, as well as Amanda Given from Given Law, and Karen and Scott Thompson from Anderssen Lawyers.

The tour covered an area over 3,000 nautical miles and the team visited clients in Darwin, Cairns, Townsville, Mackay and Gladstone in the space of three days.

The law firms we visited were very interested to hear Karen and Scott Thompson share their experience in achieving a 100% paperless office status at Anderssen Lawyers. Karen and Scott discussed how upgrading to LawMaster had enabled them to fully embrace electronic legal processes and resources, delivering their firm substantial savings and increasing their team’s productivity.

The CEO Connection tour was well received by our clients who valued the opportunity to interact with members of a leading Brisbane-based firm. The feedback and ideas shared in this forum will assist in the alignment of the LawMaster development roadmap.

Our next tour is happening later this year. We plan to visit law firms in south-east Queensland as well as other states.
